{"id":31112,"date":"2021-11-08T18:00:36","date_gmt":"2021-11-08T18:00:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/westmountain.com\/?page_id=31112"},"modified":"2025-08-14T09:17:33","modified_gmt":"2025-08-14T13:17:33","slug":"ski-patrol","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/westmountain.com\/ski-patrol\/","title":{"rendered":"Ski Patrol"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h1>\n\t\t\tSki Patrol\t<\/h1>\n\t<h3>West mountain ski Patrol|<a href=\"https:\/\/westmountain.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Employment-Application-Winter-2021-22.pdf\">APPLY TODAY<\/a><\/h3>\n\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/westmountain.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/ski-patrol-300x168.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"168\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Are you interested in joining West Mountain&#8217;s Ski Patrol? \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>West Mountain&#8217;s Ski Patrol consists of volunteer and paid patrollers, part-time and full-time.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>If you would like to train to become a patroller, you need to enroll in National Ski Patrol&#8217;s Outdoor Emergency Care class, taught every Fall by Eastern New York Region of National Ski Patrol. \u00a0The Outdoor Emergency Care class consists of first aid instruction and has a written exam and practical exam. \u00a0After passing OEC, a candidate must also take instruction in CPR and ICS. \u00a0Candidates then participate in Outdoor Emergency Transportation training in skiing and toboggan handling, and first aid in the outdoor setting at West Mountain, once the snow and ski season begins. \u00a0A candidate has two years to complete training and to become an Alpine Patroller (a National Ski Patrol designation).\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Before becoming a certified patroller, we do offer volunteer and safety patrol positions within our patrol unit that gives recruits some of the necessary on-the-job training.<\/p>\n<p>Each patroller must work one weekend day and one weeknight throughout the season.\u00a0 Patrollers also have the option of summer employment. \u00a0All patrollers receive mountain employee perks including skiing, snowboarding, group lessons, retail discounts, rental and tuning discounts, food discounts, as well as a fun work environment.<\/p>\n<p>For more information regarding classes to become a patroller, see National Ski Patrol Eastern Division Eastern New York Region calendar on the Web.<\/p>\n<p>Please contact the WM Patrol Director Jeff McKenna at\u00a0jeffpatrol@westmountain.com\u00a0with any additional questions.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/westmountain.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/Employment-Application-Winter-25-26.pdf\">Employment Application Winter 25-26<\/a><\/p>\n\t<h4>OUR HEALTH MEASURES<\/h4>\nSince your well-being is at the heart of our concerns, several health measures are in place and we ask for your cooperation to meet the State of New York&#8217;s recommendations as they are a priority.
